People suddenly had to queue outside shops and follow one-way systems and the Clap for Carers soon swept the nation as people showed their appreciation and support for frontline key workers keeping the country running.
People lost loved ones and jobs all but essential services shut down for the following few weeks.
Suddenly hospitality businesses and pubs had to shift into serving takeaway food and everyone suddenly made the most of their daily exercise.
And then we had the community groups and food larders forming around the district such as in Leasingham, Osbournby, Heydour, Martin, Heckington, Sleaford and Billingborough area when locals showed their community spirit to help and support others who were housebound or in need.
We look back here at some of those early images on this National Day of Reflection.
