NOSTALGIA: Mums in Boston call for more play equipment in Central Park in 1966
Fifty-five years ago mums were protesting over what they called the lack of young children’s play equipment in Boston’s Central Park.
Parks committee chairman Geoff Moulder backed the mothers and highlighted proposals for a park face-lift planned for the following spring.
The plans included a new slide, but the mums were angry that new safety swings were not part of the vision. There was only one such swing in the park.
