BREAKING: Report slams UK's involvement in Iraq War
The long-awaited report led by Sir John Chilcot was published today, questioned the 2003 invasion which eventually cost the lives tens of thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians and of hundreds of British soldiers, including several from our region.
Speaking from the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in London this morning, Sir John said: “The UK chose to join the invasion of Iraq before the peaceful options have been exhausted.
“Military action at the time was not a last resort.”

Hide AdHe said that the legal basis for war was not satisfactory, the UK’s involvement in Iraq ‘ended a very long way from success’ and that it was it went ‘badly wrong with consequences to this day’.
He also said here had been no immediate threat from Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein, in 2003, despite concerns that he was harbouring weapons of mass destruction.
