Clever Cameron offered place at top university
Cameron Marnoch, 18, who is currently taking his A-levels at QEGS Sixth Form in Alford, is already well on track towards achieving the three ‘A’ grades he needs to secure his place at the prestigious university.
Last week, Cameron visited Cordeaux Academy - where he studied between Year 8 and Year 11 - to share his good news with his former teachers.

Hide AdCameron told the Leader: “It was very satisfying and very pleasing to receive the letter offering me a place.
“I was hopeful about getting an offer if the interview went well, but the interviewers are judging you against other people so you don’t know.”
Although Cameron is not yet certain what career path to take after university, he is interested in going into teaching or law in the future.
He praised one teacher in particular - Mrs Frances Green - who taught him GCSE English while he was at Cordeaux Academy and has continued to offer Cameron advice and support.

Hide AdCameron’s mother, Kate, told the Leader: “When the letter came through, I was literally jumping up and down with excitement.
“I was thrilled to bits for him; he’s worked so hard and he really deserves it.
“We live in Mablethorpe which is an area of deprivation, and he came to Cordeaux which is a secondary modern school in a selective area with great teaching and great teachers, but he has had to work really hard to get where he’s got to, so we were absolutely thrilled to bits.”
