Three suspected hare coursers from Durham stopped and fined for Covid offences at East Heckington
The three men were said to have travelled from Durham
Lincolnshire Police Special Constables, were working with the force’s rural crime unit under the Operation Galileo banner to stop hare coursing and other rural crime when they came across the trio early on Thursday morning and issued fines for unnecessary travel under lockdown and ordered the men to leave the area.
They tweeted: “Can’t think what they were doing here with their dogs? Early intercept, three Covid tickets and dispersal notices issued before they had chance to start ‘walking the dogs’.”

Hide AdIt was part of a busy day of action against hare coursers in the region, combining local officers, spcial constables, the rural crime team, traffic cops and spotter aircraft from the National Police Air Service to coordinate the response.
A number of assets were seized during the day.
