Service to remember crashed bomber crew
On Saturday, September 10, there will be a service in St Vincent’s Church, Caythorpe, to commemorate the sacrifice made by the Royal Australian Air Force crew of a Lancaster which crashed close to Caythorpe on February 10, 1945.
The service, which starts at 10am will be attended by about 30 relatives, travelling from Australia, of the deceased crew together with many military organisations, MP’s, representatives of local councils and the Australian High Commission in London.

Hide AdThe service will be taken by the Venerable Air Vice-Marshall Brian Lucas.
After the service a plaque at the village war memorial site will be unveiled followed by a memorial stone close to the crash site, in Love Lane, Caythorpe.
