Fulstow and North Somercotes applications are rejected
Despite a forceful presentation from Mr Allen himself, the committee shared the view of case officer Graeme Hyde that development of the site would ‘erode the open nature of the countryside by introducing buildings and a domestic setting’.
At the Planning Committee meeting last Thursday (July 14), members noted that the parish council supported the project, which would provide more homes in the village, but this was not enough to dissuade them from voting nine-one to refuse it.

Hide AdMeanwhile, there has been a setback for Mr and Mrs Les Ballinger who want to build a house with attached double garage and carport on a plot at South Lodge, off South Road in North Somercotes.
The couple’s planning application was refused by the District Council on the grounds that the proposed property would be ‘significantly harmful to the rural countryside character of the locality’.
