Grant gives gardening the green light in Worksop
The Claylands Avenue Gardeners Society promotes, protects and supports allotments and local gardeners in and around Worksop. The main allotment is an eight-acre site which offers a place for more than 100 local gardeners.
Martin Hadfield, chairman of Claylands Avenue Gardeners Society, said: “The funded drainage work has allowed 4 additional plots to be let and access to the site made safer.”

“Our EnviroGrant scheme is aimed at community groups looking to improve their local environment; so this project fits the bill perfectly,” he said.
“We wish the group all the best with it and we hope that the improved drainage and access, enhances local people’s enjoyment of their allotments.”
The Nottinghamshire EnviroGrant Scheme is a community fund to which not-for-profit community groups based in the county of Notts can apply for grants of up to £1,000 for projects which improve their local environment.
