Hide AdSheila, of Navenby, has held the role of Cub Scout leader for more than 30 years.
During this time, she also acted as group contact in the absence of a group Scout leader for more than 10 years.
Once a group Scout leader was appointed, Sheila is credited with helping ensure a successful transition and is said to continue to provide support to all the other leaders in the group.
Simon Lawson, group Scout leader, said: “Sheila’s contribution to Scouting in the district has been immense; without her dedication and selfless commitment over the years, 1st Wellingore Scout Group may have ceased to exist.”
He added: “In recognition of her outstanding achievements and her continued and distinguished service within the district, Sheila is a worthy recipient of the Bar to the Silver Acorn.”
