Caistor Tri-peaks trio ready to step it up
Sid, Andy and Kerim will each be attempting to virtually climb the equivalent distance of the traditional three peaks challenge - approx 37km, more than 50,000 steps - using equipment at the Bfit Lincs Gym in Caistor.
Their aim is to raise awareness of the Fight Bladder Cancer charity - and also raise money to support the work of this national patient-led charity for everyone affected by the disease.

However, as the gym’s managing director explains, this has never stopped Sid from getting on with life.
Amy said: “Sid has been a member of the gym since 2018 at which time I didn’t know about his diagnosis.
“He has never shown he was battling anything - he is always laughing and joking; just a lovely person to be around.

“Throughout his treatment, Sid has attended classes at the gym and has found that it has provided a huge sense of support for both his fitness and mental health.
“We are pleased to have him as a member of the gym - and a friend - and we will continue to support him in any way we can.”
The challenge will take place at the Brigg Road gym on Thursday January 21, starting at 10am.

To cover the varied heights of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, Sid and Andy (58) will be climbing 1600 floors each using the gym’s Stairmaster.
Kerim (23) will travel 24 elevated miles using the gym’s treadmill.
Amy said: “There will be donation buckets around the gym on the day for those who would like to support as best they can.”

•Bladder cancer is the most expensive cancer for the NHS to treat; it has the highest rate of recurrence and often means a patient will be monitored for a long period of time.
Bladder cancer can affect men, women and children of any age.
It’s the 5th most common cancer in Europe and more than 20,000 people are diagnosed with it in England each year.
