Gainsborough roofing company makes it to the top with national awards
Timby Traditional Roofing, a small company based on Tooley Street, picked up the pair of prizes at the National Roofing Awards in London last month.
Business owner Matt Timby, 30, said: “It was a total shock. We were up against some huge nationwide companies, and we’re just a small team of four guys who have only been going five years.

The firm took the titles for best single-lap slating and tiling, using Old English clay on a house in Wellingore; and double-lap tiling, for a garden gazebo with bespoke Spanish slate detail on Willoughby Chase, Gainsborough.
Matt was also runner-up for young lead-worker of 2016.
He added: “We specialise in traditional materials and techniques, but we do anything and everything. On these jobs we thought we’d try something a bit different.
“You can tell the difference when tiles are hand-cut. It becomes beautiful to look at.”

He said: “It’s value for money and the attitude of the lads, their professionalism, that really set us apart.”
