Rasen Round Table bonfire cancelled
Bonfore night in Market Rasen is set to be a damp squib this year as the town’s main event has become the latest victim of coronavirus.
Organised by Market Rasen Round Table, the November 5 bonfire and firework display, held on racecourse land in Legsby Road, always attracts hundreds of people and members say they are ‘gutted’ this popular community event has had to be cancelled.

Hide AdA spokesman for the group said: “The risks are to high by the nature of what it is.
“The event is costly to put on and we don’t want to lose money on it.
“The Jockey Club has also said they won’t let us have the field this year and there is no other alternative venue anyway.
“It is a shame, but we will be back next year and, meanwhile, we will be continuing to support our local community, as well as charities and good causes.”
