She told the Leader: “My lovely mum Janice has had Parkinson’s Disease for the past nine(ish) years and it has completely changed the way she and my dad planned on spending their long awaited and deserved retirement.
“It’s been a tough road for her, but we are trying to do all we can to maintain the best bits of her as a wonderful mother, wife, nana, sister and friend. She still has her sparkle and an infectious zest for life. But it’s starting to fade.
“She developed Lewy Body Dementia five years ago - a part of Parkinson’s Disease we didn’t really know about.”

“So I got my childhood friend James and his partner Claire from Harrogate involved and, of course, my husband and we’re hoping to raise £1,000 between us.”
