Rotherham: Council is leading way on climate control
The scheme supports councils to reduce carbon emissions and also to improve resilience to the affects of changing climate and extreme weather.
The commitment was signed by Rotherham Council leader, Coun Roger Stone and will assist the council in addressing climate change and to build on its existing achievements.

Hide AdDavid Rhodes, corporate environmental manager for Rotherham said: “Signing up to the Climate Local scheme confirms our commitment to improving our environment, reducing carbon emissions and improving our resilience to a changing climate.”
Coun Ken Wyatt, who chairs the environment and climate change group, added: “I am delighted that Rotherham is leading the way in this important area.”
“Clearly this undertaking is a firm commitment to ensuring that we are fully aware of the opportunities that exist to provide the best possible services to the people of Rotherham.”
