VIDEO: Reaching out with the power of song in Burgh
Singer Penny Lane presented old favourites such as How Much Is That Doggy In The Window and Whatever Will Be, Will Be to her audience at Burgh Baptist Church, while they tucked into refreshments and sang along.
The free social event was the idea of village newcomer Penny, a professional artist who ran something similiar in Cambridge. She said: “The benefits of song for people with dementia is well known. It reminds us of happier times.”

Among the audience was Terry Mills from Mablethorpe, whose wife has dementia. He said: “I’m lucky because I’ve had 61 years with her. It’s certainly somewhere I’ll bring her.”
The cafes are on the first Friday of the month from 10am to 11.30am.
