"I put an ad on LinkedIn and on my Twitter and I had more than 300 people apply, 303 in total," Boryszczuk told The Standard.
"It gave me something to do at the weekend going through them all."
After whittling down the applicants, including sifting out the hopefuls from places such as Kent and Bristol who live too far away from the world of the National League North, Boryszczuk settled on a group he believes will bring different skill sets to the club.

Boryszczuk will continue to watch the Pilgrims' upcoming opponents, but second opinions will always be welcome.
"We've got people like Luke in the north east," the chief scout added.
"If we're playing Darlington or Spennymoor he can watch them a few weeks before then I'll watch them the week before.
"The lads we've got in are good, and a different mixture."
