Worksop rugby side bounce back in league action
Training ground work on scrums and line-outs saw them control the set-pieces to pick up an important Midlands Four East North win.
In the first half Nottinghamians scored the first try through some quick offloads, despite an excellent tackle from Matthew Nunn on the Worksop try line.
Minutes late they took an eight point lead from a penalty.

Hide AdWorksop responded with Francis Appleton using his size and strength to run though a number forwards to score his second of the season.
The next try was created in the backs with Zeke Ebbs collecting and offloading to a rushing Matthew Nunn who ran half the field to score.
In the second half the game continued to be very close with Worksop having a player sin binned, but controlling the possession while short-handed.
In the last five minutes Worksop scored their third try of the game, the forwards running a series of attacks on the opponents five meter line with captain Liam Cooper forcing his way over.
Man of the Match was awarded to Cooper.

The second team were in action at home to Southwell in a friendly on Saturday, and ran out 38-21 winners.
Worksop fielded a vastly experienced side with a few promising younger players featuring.

Hide AdThey used their pack to establish a strong set piece at the scrum and line-out, and this enabled scrum half Steve Tite to rumble over for the first try.
A second came from good interplay from both forwards and backs.
Excellent tackling from the Worksop players kept the dangerous Southwell backs at bay, although they managed a break away try.
After the break Southwell took the lead with two converted tries, but Worksop were not to be outdone and hit back to win.

Hide AdThe game was played in excellent spirits by both sides, mainly due to the fine referring performance by C. Parrot Snr.
Worksop try scorers were A. Waddell (2), Lukaz (2), Colin Barnett and Steve Tite, and Waddell added four conversions.
