BRIGG'S reputation for excellence in the staging of triathlons will take a big step forward next month when - on October 5 - Lincsquad holds its first conventional triathlon in the town.
This Olympic-style triathlon is an endurance event in swimming, cycling and running.

The Brigg Adventure Challenge and Bomber quadrathlon held earlier this summer have all involved canoeing.
The October event will be focused around the Ancholme Leisure Centre from 9am for competitors from all over the country to take on a 400m swim in the pool, 20km cycle on local roads and finish with a 5km run.

Simon Taylor, operations manager for the leisure centre said: "We are excited about the event and think it will be good for the town."

Event organiser Paul Carvill said: "We rely on the support of the community for an event like this to be a success and urge people to get involved. We are always looking for volunteers, sponsors and help to promote the event."

* Call him on 07920 499 066 or see www.lincssquad.co.uk for information and entry. The event is being sponsored by Homecrafts Brigg Ltd.
