CAISTOR children were denied an opportunity for summer holiday fun because of council bureaucracy.
As a result calls are being made for a process allowing decisions to be made between meetings.

Children's Links, a county organisation boosting children's experiences, wanted to provide a free skate park in the town hall car park in early August, at no cost to the town.
The request had to be refused because there was no meeting of the council before the event.

Coun Deb Barker said. "The council should have a system to deal with this," she added. "We seem to be able to have extra meetings for other things. Why couldn't we have an extra meeting for the children?"

Town clerk Ruth Dawson criticised Children's Links for advertising the event in its brochure before even approaching the council. Councillors will discuss the issue at their meeting next Thursday, September 11.
