Cadets enjoy taking control of a pair of Chipmunks!
IN THANKS of the support of 2292 Market Rasen Squadron of the ATC in helping organisers of the Wickenby Wings and Wheels event, cadets got to take a turn in some of the aircraft.
Owner pilots of two Chipmunks took Cadet Cpl Tom Fussey and Cadet Sam Goffin for a 30 minute flight each.
The Chipmunk was the Cadet Trainer for many years before the Grob Tutor was introduced.
On landing both cadets had smiles that lasted all afternoon, both saying it was fantastic and they said the Chipmunk was great to fly - prefering it to the Grob Tutor.
Even an RAF Typhoon pilot who flew the Battle of Britain Spitfire for the recent Queen’s Birthday flypast, was blown away by the experience.
