CHAPTERHOUSE Theatre Company will stage performances of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table at Tattershall Castle tonight, August 27, and Sleeping Beauty on August 31 at Lincoln Castle.
Both plays have been scripted by York University student Laura Turner and while King Arthur follows the traditional story, Sleeping Beauty has been adapted to a more contemporary setting, still celebrating fairytale romance but following the adventur
es of main character Louisa and her friends after they have been evacuated to the countryside during the Second World War in a style that loosely replicates the Famous Five. The Sleeping Beauty performance also includes a fairytale fancy dress parade in the interval with members of the cast, showcasing fantastic original costumes.
These performances are part of the theatre company’s ninth season of touring productions, others of which have been performed at over 150 different locations up and down the country.
With the opportunity to enjoy pre-show picnics, Chapterhouse invites the whole family to an enjoyable and memorable experience.
