23/07/08 - Dial-a-ride is discriminating against me!
EDITOR - I have been a regular user of Dial a Ride for the last two years, four days a week to travel from my home in Bucknall to NewLink Project Ltd within the Ancaster Day Centre in Lincoln.
I have been told by the Dial a Ride office that I will no longer be able to continue with this journey as I will be going out of district under the new rules.
I feel that they are discriminating against people with special needs as there are no alternative travel options for me. As a result of this I will no longer be able to continue with my voluntary role of local UK Online Co-ordinator and part-time Associate Tutor for people with Visual Impairments.
I realise that I am within the East Lindsey District Council boundaries but I feel they are discriminating against our area as we cannot go into Lincoln like your readers who are within the West Lindsey District Council.
