THERE were mixed fortunes on the local cricket scene for Market Rasen area clubs at the weekend in the Lincolnshire League.
For once the weather was relatively kind and a full programme ensued.

l In Division 1, South Kelsey seamer Marcus Meadows took five wickets as his side had a good win away to Holton-le-Clay.

l In Divison 2, Lee Chambers made 93 as Owmby won a
top of the table clash away to Alkborough 2nds, Ciaron Deegan also taking four wickets but Market Rasen, apart from Richard Limmer's 34, batted poorly to lose to Scothern.

l In Division 3, Caistor 3rds, hoping to avoid relegation, needed a good win away to Barton Town 2nds but lost heavily by 140 runs, although they did manage five bowling bonus points.

Although Jon Taylor scored 46, title-chasing Hibaldstow suffered a shock home defeat aginst Alford 2nds. South Kelsey 2nds were also short of runs, apart from Tony Potter's 26, and paid the price by losing to Haxey 2nds.
