ON A drizzly day at Owmby, the home team won the toss to open against top of the table Boston who brought along two 1st teamers and an Australian. Owmby went on to win 137 for six, to Boston's 120 all out.
Naughton and Simpkins opened the innings for Owmby, but very shortly Naughton was on his way back, bowled by a low ball. Cooper was bowled for just six to bring out Deegan, fresh from his 78 not out last week, to build a good partnership with Simpkin

Deegan played good shots all around the wicket but Simpkins was caught by a top catch for an innings building knock of 24. This brought in Broughton, who was straight back with a duck, then out came Matt Brook who also was sent back for 0.
Skipper Snell joined Deegan in a stand of 58, with well timed shots being played all over at Todmoor. But then hesitance from Deegan saw him round out for a fine knock of 21. This brought under-15 player Atkin to the wicket, stumped for yet another 0 from an Owmby player.
With Snell, Tom Brook, saw the innings to a close, with Snell ending up on 53 not out and Tom Brook 14 not out. When Owmby took to the field, Catignani and Clark opened the attack. Their first two overs were bowled in great areas, but with the ground getting wetter, Snell decided to bowl himself and off spinner Deegan. This soon reaped rewards, with Snell trapping Boston’s Aussie LBW and then 6 balls later he struck with another LBW and Boston were now on 58 for 2.
Deegan got involved to have Gilding caught by wicketkeeper Cooper with a fine catch low down. Deegan and Snell bowled the next 20 overs and just conceded 54 runs between them. This had Boston on 96 for 6 now. Then the introduction of leg spinner Sam Atkin and veteran Andy Simpkins ripped through the Boston tail leaving the visitors on 120 all out.
